Craig JutilaCraig@empoweringkids.net949-600-5255 Craig is the one who started EK, ie Founder & President, with his first book, Daze to Knights, back in 1996. His passion for seeing kids grow in Christ and build strong children’s leaders across the world, has enabled EK to come up with the resources in this catalog. This makes him sound very serious but around the office, we call him “Taz” because he is a bundle of energy and fun….if you’ve ever heard him speak, you know that’s true! Favorite past times include watching the Anaheim Ducks play hockey, chilling out with his three kids at Disneyland, planning family vacations (to Disney World) and taking Mary out on dates. Oh yeah and golf too!
Mary JutilaMary@empoweringkids.net949-600-5258 Mary is the one who first realized that we needed to charge shipping and CA sales tax, and pretty much keeps us organized around here as our Vice President. Her background in Education and Speech Pathology are an asset to our curriculum but it’s her caring heart and personality that we love the most. In her free time, she plays Bunco, studies Beth Moore, rides her beach cruiser and hangs with her 3 energetic kids (well, 4, if you count Craig) at Target or AYSO soccer games.

In between reading huge political biographies and traveling oversees, she finds time to keep up on the Hollywood Celebrities. Her heart for seeing orphans placed in loving families and her strong work ethic make her the perfect director of this ministry!

Suzanne LowrySuzanne@empoweringkids.net949-600-5256 When Suzanne, our Director of Events, is not cheering on our Stanley Cup Winning Ducks, she can be found with her family at Disneyland, hanging out with Mickey! In her spare time she works at Empowering Kids, coordinating our Liquid Gatherings and making sure she keeps Craig out of the office and on trips around the country pouring leadership into all of you. Jody TurneyJody@empoweringkids.net949-600-5285 Our Director of Operations, Jody, came from our first church, serving with us on our parent counsel. She keeps all of our product in stock and our staff in line (well sorta) and can even run the fork lift when needed. Her favorite passion is making custom jewelry creations and hanging out at San Clemente beach with her husband and 2 darling grandchildren.
Karen MendozaKaren@empoweringkids.net949-600-5254 Karen is our Customer Service Concierge and our resident Christian Counselor at EK. She loves learning new things and problem solving (which are great skills to have around here!). In her free time, she enjoys reading, entertaining friends, listening to music, and hiking with her husband, Ken. If you need to place an order or have any questions about our products (or just need to spill your guts) she is the one to call.
Matt MeltonMatt@empoweringkids.net949-600-5259 Matt is our go-to-guy for all of our Video Editing and computer problems. No one has a better eye than he does when it comes to the little details. When he is not editing videos or playing Guitar Hero, you’ll find him coaching basketball or hanging out with his 9 brothers and sisters.
Cara BrullCara is our incredible Illustrator who doesn’t wear a watch, but has time for everyone…she is never one to miss a party! She is the only artist we know that can multi-task. This is most likely because of her three children, Audrey, Annie Rose, and Ava, and her husband Dave…they keep her on her toes!
Kaili YorkKaili is the newest addition to our team and oversees our warehouse and shipping! She is fun and spunky, keeping everyone informed of the latest happenings. Whether on the golf course, playing on the beach or babysitting her favorite kids (The Jutila and Brull kids included), she is always upbeat and ready to have fun.
